Sue Wilson Card

Hello Folks, I' d really like to say a huge Thank-You for all the lovely comments left for my ATB.  Its so uplifting when you receive these comments and I'm sure you'll all agree it helps with the motivation too.  
 Just a short post from me today as I have such a lot of catching up to do.  My foot is getting better as long as I don't stand too long.  Here we are into May and this is a very busy month for me.   I have 3 commissions waiting to get started as well as other things I am pursuing at the moment.   I really am a dabbler in Crafts as I love to try different things.  . I'll not bore you with my stories.  I received my Sue Wilson dies last week and thought I might have a little play with them.  Really they don't need a lot as the dies themselves are stunning on their own.  This is a 6 X 6 card, so that will give you an idea of the size of the dies.  I'll let the dies do the talking,  because all I added was the sentiment and few little daisies I quickly made with a punch.  Base is Cream with a coffee coloured card matted on top, before the dark brown dies were added.  Less than an hour from start to finish.  Enjoy your Day.  Hugs Rita xxx

Artist Trading Block with Flowers

Hello my Friends.   Hopefully you have had a lovely weekend.   The weather here in South West Scotland has been really nice.   Well, as most of you know Annie and I paid a visit to see our dear friend Astrid last Tuesday.   Among the things we did was a ATB  ( Artist Trading Block )  I lined it all with Tim Holtz industrial Papers, but brought it home to finish it.  My choice was flowers,  so I could enter it in to A Vintage Journey Challenge.   I wanted it to look bright and I think I managed that Ok.   I used the Mini Floral dies and sprayed them all with Dylusions Pure Sunshine and blended them with DI dried Marigold after the paint dried.  For the centre of the daisies,  I used a flock powder in dark brown .  The butterflies  were stamped and embossed with black and coloured with DI.  They really do flutter as I put them on a thin strip of acetate.  The lovely little tiles were bought from Tracy Evans  ( Thanks Tracy ) and I really wanted to use them on this piece.   These boxes are really addictive and the die for them is from  Eileen Hull.  I have to say I enjoyed creating this piece.  Speak to You All Soon.   Take Care.  Rita xxxxx

Christmas Card Challenge 9.. Black & White + One other colour.

Good Morning Folks.  I hope you have all had a Good Week.  Aren't they flying by too.  This my card for the CCC and Challenge 9 was chosen by Karen P.  It has to be Black & White and one other colour,  in my case I have chosen Gold.   My card is white, to that I matted a piece of Black linen card,  then put a piece of white card through a couple of embossing folders.  the bottom edge I used a MS punch.  I cut the gold card with SB Enchanted Labels 4 and used the centre die. The sentiment was embossed with gold as was the edges before adding it on to the finished card.  Notice, there is no bows.    Enjoy your Day whatever you do and I'll be back soon.   Hugs Rita xxxx

WRMK Bags

Hello Everyone.   Thank-you all so much for the lovely caring e-mails and comments after my fall. My knee is a lovely yellow now and it is much better.  My ankle is fine first thing in the morning and as the day goes on it gets quite painful.   However, I had a lovely day out on Tuesday with Annie when we went to visit our dear friend Astrid in Edinburgh.   As usual we laughed and chatted and ate good food as well as creating some ATB and I still have mine to finish.   I took up my WRMK gift bag board and so we made some gift bags too.   
To-day I am sharing some bags I made beforehand using the board and so that is going to be my share for you today.   Hopefully I will get back to creating in the next few days as I do have some cards to make.    I pray that everything is going well for all of you, and lots of hugs for those who are struggling along.    Hugs Rita xxxx

Christmas Lights. at CCC challenge 08

Hello Folks.  I do apologise to Asha and the girls for being a bit late with my card at CCC, where the Challenge 08 is Christmas Lights.
Due to the fact I am not very mobile at the moment I had to use the Heartfelt Creations Candle stamp.  I stamped it 3 times in all so I could decoupage it.  I used Promarkers for colouring and highlighted the image with Stickles and Crackled accents over the dripping wax on the candle.   The frame I used is Spellbinders Enchanted Labels 28.   Distress Ink in Festive Berries was used to add some colour to the corners and edges.  The sentiment is from a Just-rite set.   I used a gold linen look card to mat it onto my card.   

My foot is still strapped up, but I am trying hard to do what I'm told and for me who likes to be doing things, its awful.   Family have been great.  I'm still trying to catch up with your blogs and I'm sure I'll get to you eventually.

12 Tags of 2014 April

Hello again to All of you.   All my good intentions are right out the window.  I had not been very well on Tuesday and Wednesday, so Thursday morning I phoned the Doctors and managed to get an appointment for the afternoon at 4.30.  So heading for the bus home I had a clash with the pavement.  The outcome was a badly sprained ankle and a very bruised knee.  Annie took me to A&E yesterday , so I am to rest it till Monday and then start gently walking on it again after that. It's still very swollen today, so I have it elevated  most of the time.
My Tag for this months Tim's Tags of 2014 April is the first one I have ever done and I really enjoyed the challenge.  Luckily I finished it on Wednesday evening,  so at least I have something to show you today.  I used a size 8 tag and used tissue tapes here and there, before using Distress Paints to add some colour.  Then I used DI to highlight the edges of my tag, before adding the Frameworks Trellis die that again I painted and distressed.  My flowers were made from the Sizzix Pine Cone die and were such fun to make. The leafy fronds were also from the same die.  I then dyed some seam binding using the colours on the tag.and tied it around the tag in a bow.  I cannot sit very long ,so I'll try my best to get back soon.   Hugs Rita xx

Wedding Card and Matching Bag

Hello my Friends and Fellow Bloggers.   Hope you are all well and finding time to craft.   I have been busily crafting, but not blogging properly as yet .  I made up my mind I was going to finish some projects waiting patiently in the wings for my attention.   A real mixture of crafts.  There is a map of Islay waiting to have the hills embroidered, all the cross-stitch is complete,  but I want to get it framed this year.  Some Tim Holtz Fabric Cushions to make for Annie and of course some knitting that needs to finished too.
 I'm still finding it hard to get time for my crafts as the days are taken up with other commitments at the moment.
Anyway,  on to a Wedding card I was asked to make for an April Wedding,  and here it is ready to be delivered tomorrow.  I've chosen an 8 X 8 Easel card for this one.    I spent Sunday making some roses, only to find they were much bigger than I wanted, so that went into Monday.   Now both are completed,I thought you might like to see my  creation now its complete..

Pop up Flowers in a Box

Hello again folks.  I am still at work in progress things, but took a wee break to show you a Pop up Box card that I made last week.  I just love the Craftwork Cards papers and kits, apart from the excellent prices ,the quality is second to none. Engagement Card

Good Morning Folks.  I am a bit late in posting my card as My eldest grandchild  Garry,  got engaged to his sweetheart Jennifer after quite a few years.  He proposed on the 23rd March and to say the family were overjoyed would be an understatement.  We are all so happy for them, and this was the card I made for them last week.  It went down really well with everyone and it was my first pop out card for me too.  The card itself was one I saw recently on the Craftwork Cards show and the following day there was a tutorial on their Blog, by the lovely Hazel one of the team.   It does take a lot of paper, but I think you'll agree it was well worth the effort.  The band idea was my own and it helps to keep it closed.  I absolutely adore all the paper pads and kits that CC produce and they are great value for money too.   Hope you are all well and managing to craft.  I'll try to keep up with my comments, but I will be concentrating on sewing in the next few weeks,  so please bear with me as I will try and keep my blogging up to scratch.    Enjoy your Crafting Everyone.  Hugs Rita xxx
