Birthday Card

Hello Again.   I really wanted to show this card yesterday,  but I'm afraid things went a bit astray after we received a phone call from the hospital to once again cancel Andrews knee operation.   No beds,  due to weather conditions this time,  17 operations were cancelled and no lists made up for the next two weeks.   But glad to say we feel better this morning and now we can look forward to the wedding on the 31st. 
My card was made for my dear friend Jan who is having her birthday on Saturday.  It is an 8 X 8 card that is specially for a good friend and I love the verse.  I decoupaged it , but its hardly noticeable,  I have had this print for quite some time,  but I think it was from Craftsuprint.    Jan is doing ok,  but still got some pain,  so she is still on morphine morning and night at a reduced level.   We are going out on Friday for lunch and then to bingo in the evening ( Jan likes her Bingo ). It bores me ,  but she wanted to go,  so I said yes.     Went for the papers this morning and the side roads were still fairly slippy,  but the sun is shining so I'll not complain.  Take Care everyone.     Hugs Rita xxxx

Christmas Card Club Challenge 2. The Real Reason for the Season.

Hello Everyone.  I have been really busy and needed to take some time out.   Between the cold and orders and sewing garments,  I dug a big hole for myself,  so far I have not fell in.    However, I'm back with a card for the CCC Challenge 2 that was chosen by the lovely Christine one of my buddies on the group.   The theme  she chose was  ' The Real Reason for the Season'  and lo and behold I could not find my  stamp/nativity set,  hunted high and low but it never showed up.   So my card to day is from  theJoanna Sheen CDRom  called Enchanted Christmas.   I do love Angels and of course Christmas trees, so that is what I have used. 

Hoping Andrew's operation goes ahead on Wednesday,  as he wants to attend our first Grandson's Wedding on the 31st.   We have a lightweight wheelchair at the ready  so he can get there and move about.   Back to my sewing machine and then I have cards to make.  I'll keep you posted as to how things are progressing.

Ruby Wedding card

Hello to Everyone.   Sorry I have been AWOL again.   Firstly I had the awful lurgy that has been doing its rounds and secondly I did not have the energy or the motivation to do anything much.    Adding to that the fact that Andrew's operation was cancelled yet again until the 21st January as there were no beds available.   So with my eldest Grandsons wedding taking place on the 31st January we were both a bit worried.   However,  hopefully things will go ok this time and he can still manage to get to the wedding.  
My card today is one I had to make for a friend and really I don't know how I managed it.  It is for a Ruby Wedding and thankfully it was loved.   Dies saved my day this time, and I was glad at least I was able to produce something easy.
Still got my wedding outfit to alter, but everything else is sorted.   Will be back on Sunday with my card for the CCChallenge.    Keep safe and warm in this awful weather.   Hugs Rita xxx

Christmas Card Club Challenge 1 for 2015 is Red, Green & White

Hi Folks.  Here we are again in a nice New Year and the Christmas Card Club Challenge 1 where we start all over again.  A great way to prepare for Christmas without the stress.  This challenge was chosen by the lovely Carol and was to be Red, Green & White.   My card is very clean & simple Carol,  but I did manage to stay with the colours you asked for.   Lots of matting and layering with this one and one of my oldest stamps.   Hope you like what I've done.   Not into the swing of things yet,  but I will get there.    Beautiful day here and it certainly is a reminder that Spring is on its way.   Hope you all have a Good Weekend.   Hugs Rita xxx

First Card of 2015

Hello Everyone.  Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year.   I hope it is a Special year for us crafters and who knows what creations we will see,  and no doubt you are looking forward to new ideas too.
To-days card was one for a Golden Wedding and it took place 50 years ago today,  yes,  the 2nd of January.   I had to do make it quite quickly too,  it was an 8 X 8 card matted with gold linen card and I then used the Sue Wilson Umbria die from the Italian collection.   I made a few roses and added some gold leaves  along with an organza ribbon bow  that had gold hearts on it.
