21st Card & Matching Bag

Thought I'd better show my face, yes I have been away for around 10days, not on holiday I may add. This was a card & bag I was asked to do for a friend's daughter. I used 8x8 hammered card and added an acetate front, to that I put a MS border in a cerise mirri card along with matching corners. I drew round my templates for 21 and glittered them ,before adding some swirls. Hope you enjoy what I've done. Hugs Rita xxxx

Christmas Animals Shaker card

Sorry for being AWOL again ,but here is my Joanna Sheen Giordano competition card. I so enjoyed the challenge with card and got a bit carried away I think. There were so many beautiful cards it must have been so hard for Joanna Sheen to judge them all. been really busy doing invites and no time to relax at all. Hope to be back soon. Hugs Rita xxx

" Elegance "

After a particularly difficult 2 weeks,I thought I'd try this week's challenge at Bah Humbug. Challenge 42 is Elegance and this must be one of the simplest cards I've ever made. I used ivory hammered card and scored some lines added the Marianne doily die along with her poinsetta die and my card had started to take shape. I edged the card and the sentiment with gold added a few corners and my card was finished. I did enjoy making it, so hopefully this may give me some incentive to start again. Hugs Rita xxx

Across the Miles

Hi everyone, This is my card for Bah-Humbug Challenge38. "Across the Miles". My only brother lives in Australia and this will be his card for this year. I stamped the Papermania image and embossed it with Stuart Gill embossing powder Midas,its a lovely gold. I used some coloured glitter to bring out the colour on the baubles and matted and layered it on to Royal Stewart tartan paper, finished it of with a matching tartan bow. Anything but a Card

This was CraftyAnn's challenge 24 this week. Really its not my thing at all, but here is my effort of a little tote bag that I made following instructions from Splitcoast Stampers. I used cream linen card for the bag and handles, put in some bronze tissue and then added a flower that I made a while ago and added 2 of Spellbinders leaves. Don't want to bore you all, but I thought I'd try doing a stepper card, decoupaged then I added acetate on top. I'm very pleased the way it worked out too. Sorry about the picture ,glitter and silver mirri dont like camera's. Hugs Rita xxx

Thomas Kinkade card

Well, I just loved making this card, the scene is from Joanna Sheen's latest 3 disc CD rom and its absolutely stunning. I did a boxed frame to start with,then printed the image on to acetate then put white glitter card behind it and it gives a beautiful glistening snow effect. Made a larger frame from silver mirri card and added some punched snowflakes to finish it off. I used Spellbinders mega frames to cut the apertures. Hope you enjoy looking at my card. Hugs Rita xxxx

Pink Christmas

Well now, I never in my life thought I'd make a Pink Christmas card, but being addicted to challenges, I thought I'd try and this is the outcome. Its a new fold for this card too, thanks to my friend at Nanny Gee's Place. Using a LBC stamp I coloured the image with promarkers and matted and layered it on to pink card. using silver glitter card on the main fold and pink paper and peel-offs for the sides I finished my card. Bah Humbug. Ch 36. Text

Hi Folks, Had to get started right away on this one as I have a busy week ahead. Another easel card. I cut the aperture and distressed it using TH distress inks, then I stamped and embossed it. I then stamped another pice of card with my text and added the frame, Finished it off with tartan ribbon and a few embellishments. All your comments are so appreciated. Hugs Rita xxx

Christmas Decoupage

Over at Bah Humbug this week challenge 35 is Favourite Mediums. Well I started my cardmaking years ago doing decoupage and I still love it ,although this year I have been trying my hand at stamping. I cut out the decoupage last night and put it to-gether this morning,I even gave it two coats of glaze. I have to say I did enjoy doing it too. I have matted it on to red card then on to gold card to pick up the colour, added a peel off sentiment from a few years back and this is my finished card. Hope you enjoy it. Hugs Rita xxx

Monochrome Birthday card

Now then, I was really challenged by this weeks challenge over at Crafty Ann's. I had never done a monochrome card card before and there are some different takes on this. However, I decided on Cream & Black. I used a template kindly given by Sonia Turner. Using stamps by Clarity I stamped both the background and the sentiment on to cream linen pape and matted it on to black. I then embellished it with a black feather and jet rhinestones. After thinking it needed a lift I added the clear stones. Hope you enjoy what I've done. Hugs Rita xxx

French Vintage Wine

Hi Folks, Well, I am still trying to catch up with my cardmaking and thought that a little vintage therapy might cheer me up, and it did. My card to-day is 8X8 ivory hammered card to which I added green leather look card and then added paper that I stamped and distressed with TH inks. Next I used a CB script folder,then added most of my French Vintage Stamps by Creative Expressions,I cut out and distressed them too, to which I added a few leaves just as a finishing touch. Took me ages but I enjoyed making it. I appreciate all your comments. Hugs Rita xxx

Pink Party

This is my card for to-day which I have created using a scketch from Crafty Ann's. The papers I have used are Hawthorn & Bramble in dusky pink i then added a lovely mottled pink card to which I added some tiny flowers that I had in my stash. Then using my Tilda stamp, I coloured her with pro-markers and added a bit of glitz and a little butterfly. Had fun creating this card. Thanks for looking. Hugs Rita xxx

Do they Know its Christmas

Well, after a really bad 8days with vertigo , I just had to try and make a card, its now wearing off a bit so hopefully it stays away. I managed to make a card for 2 challenges this week. Let it Snow....

Well, here we are at Bah Humbug Challenge 32 already. So my chosen theme for this one is Snowflakes and snow. I have made an easel card that is also a shaker card, with Diamond dust as the snow. The image is one of my favourites that was sent from canada as an RAK a few years ago. I have used Silver card for my backing and my frame is Blue glitter card. I then used my MS snowflake punches to add a strip for the easel to stand on. Hope you like what I've done. Hugs Rita xxx

Bling Time in August

Hi Everyone, I had to make a bling card for a friend this week and thought I would enter it into Sir Stampalot August Challenge. I used white Hammered cardstock and added a lilac pearlized card to which I added a print on to canvas and thoroughly enjoyed decorating it with diamonte and glitter. I stamped out 2 butterfly images on to parchment and glttered them using different colours, cut them out and attached them to my finished card. Hope you like what I've done. Thankyou for looking. Fairy Ruby

Well, I managed this one too, my Christmas card collection is growing fast now. thanks to Bah Humbug. This gorgeous stamp is one of a brand new collection of stamps by Ladybug Craft Ink, the stamp image is so clear and it makes it so easy to get a great card using them. This one is "Letter to Santa Ruby". I have realised I have been making the wrong size of cards for challenges ,so I have made amends with that too. Hope you enjoy looking at my cards. Hugs Rita xxx

Through the Window

Hi Everyone, After spending a week decorating and having carpets fitted etc, I enjoyed creating this card for Bah Humbug Challenge 30. The background stamps were from Creative Expressions and I layered them into a picture. Put acetate on to the frame window and added a bow( not like me at all ). Butterfly Kisses

This is a card made for my Grandaughter Molly. She loves making cards and receiving them too, she has been crafting since she was 4 and is now 7 years old. Quite a simple card to make and the butterfly is added on with acetate so it can fly.She is coming to stay for a few days from to-morrow. I bet we do lots of crafting too. Say it with Flowers

This is another challenge card for Raise the Bar and this week it is Stickers, now its not something that I use ,however ,I did have some and used them on this card. The stamp was one of Cuddly Buddly. I coloured it with Faber-Castell watercolour pencils and blended it with stumps, to which I added it to some matted and layered card. Ye Olde World Christmas

Hope you are all enjoying the start of the week-end, weather in the West Coast of Scotland is not great to-day. Well, over at Bah Humbug this week's challenge29 is Torn Paper??. They have a fine design team, so this is my card for Bah Humbug. My base card is dark green cardstock, layered with a gold embossed holly card. Then I layered on my torn paper ,the parchment paper I stamped and distressed using Tin Holtz distress inks ,added on a resized & distressed christmas carol music sheet. I then added a very old stamp from Dovecraft, embellished the card with a pin and a few bits & bobs. I have to say I got a bit carried away tearing paper ,but I hope you like my finished card. Wedding Card Ensemble

Well, My card to-day is a wedding card I was asked to do with matching bag and gift wallet. I have been trying very hard to keep up daily with my blog but yesterday it was just impossible. The wedding card etc was all done with white hammered card and the images are from Joanna Sheen's "Elegant Fans" CD Rom. I finished off the card with a Martha Stewart Large punch and some cuttlebug corners. Thanks for looking. Hugs Rita xx

Christmas Scene.

Hope your all enjoying the weather. To-day's card is my effort for Bah Humbug Channege 28. I have made an easel card stamped and embossed on dark blue card, which I then glittered and added some crushed glass. I then made a frame from Spellbinders large die on silver glitter card and put on acetate, added thick foam tape to make a shaker card. I put some Polar white flowersoft mixed with some twinkles added on the frame and thats the front of my card. I used white and glitter card and a piece of christmas ribbon to make a nice border inside and added some snow just to finish it off. I think maybe I got a little carried away with the peel offs though. Thanks for looking. Hugs Rita xxxx

Distressed Birthday Card

Good Morning everyone. My card for to-day is an 8X8 easel card for my son-in-law's birthday. After stamping and distressing all my elements using distress inks, I then layered them on to the card, and cut a frame from Spellbinders which I then distressed and used crackle paint to age it a little. Using buttons and a few nautical embellishments to finish off my card. I then cut the Happy birthday Border with a MS Punch and raised it up to sit like a fence. Many Thanks for looking. Rita xx

First Love

This card was made for a friend whose first love is shopping. It was a freebie stamp from a magazine and I think it suited the purpose and says it all very well. I stamped it and coloured it in using my beloved stumps and Faber-Castell pencils. matted and layer it on to cuttlebug dies and distressed the edges a bit with Tim Holtz distress inks. Sunshine

Good Morning everyone, Managed to get things sorted out with my new blog at last and this is my card for to-day. As you can see from the title I have called it sunshine as I just love the pale yellows that I have used with this card, Embossed the background with cuttlebug folder added my water-coloured image of a Sugar Nellie stamp called Sweet & Sassy. I finished it off with lemon ribbon through a Marieanne die cut and a few Prima flowers.. Hope you like what I have done. Hugs Rita xxx

I had a dilemma yesterday as I tried to change a few things on my web-site and lo & behold I lost the lot. Yep, about 2 years worth of work. Anyhow, I'm now up and running again. Bookworm

Well, Where will I start, I tried to change my blog and lost over 2 years work, but I have dusted myself down as they say, and started all over again.
