Tag with Verday Paint

Hello folks, not got much to show in the way of Art right now, but this was a tag I made a few weeks ago while having a play with the Verday Paints.  Its very bright for me and I still have lots to learn about these paints.  I actually put some mesh on to my tag before I painted to give it some texture, once the paint was dry I sanded it slightly to show the gold underneath. I edged the tag with Black Soot DI. and added one of my hand-made flowers along with some butterflies and chinese coins. The little frame was from my doll's house stash and it suited my stamped sentiment perfectly.  Enjoy your week-end.  Hugs Rita xx

Tie a Yellow Ribbon

Hello, to all my blog buddies, I hope you are all well and busily crafting. I'm missing my mojo at the moment, but I'm not giving in as I'm trying very hard to find it. Over at Sunday Stampers Challenge 223 the theme is Tie a Yellow Ribbon, now Hel's comes up with song titles quite often in her challenges and I find myself singing them for days. However, this week its a tag from me and you would never believe the inky mess I made doing a tag.  The stamp I used is fron Stamper's Anonymous and I stamped it on to yellow card, then I gave it a spray with Dylusions Pure Sunshine and Black Marble, I finished it off with Radiant Rain shimmer mist in Lemon Drop.  The edges were distressed with Black Soot.  My Crafty Emblies came in handy along with some bits from my stash.  Hope you all have a lovely day.  Thank you all again for the lovely comments, and you know I appreciate every one of them.   Hugs Rita xxx

WOYWW 172

Hello to all my fellow WOYWWers, aren't the weeks just flying by. Belated Birthday Card

Hello Folks, sorry I have not been able to blog this past week, but I realised on Thursday that I had forgotten my Sister-in-laws birthday. So here is my belated birthday card.  The card itself was from a tutorial by one of my lovely followers Desire Fourie and it certainly did not take me long to do.   The image and backing papers  were from the Jayne Netley Mayhew collection and suited the style of card perfectly.  Hoping to be back among you soon.  Enjoy your week-end whatever your doing.  Hugs Rita xx

Wedding Card

Well Folks, I hope you all had a nice week-end, the weather here was not great at all.  However, in the middle of all my inkyness,  I was asked to do a wedding card,  talk about from one extreme to another.
Anyway, I love 8 x 8 cards for weddings and I make them with matching bags.  Its hard to get quality pictures with pearlised card.  The card was made mostly with  dies and I added a couple of champagne glasses to the new Marianne die.  
The bag was white hammered card  and I used  an embossing folder on pearlised card, and embellished it with dies and my hand-made flowers.  Now I'll get back to my Inkyness.   Hope your having a decent kind of day.  I think we will all be missing the Paralympics and seeing those young people in their sports, and how they got on with their life.  I know it left me feeling very humble most of the time.  At least I will watch our own Andy Murray win (hopefully) in the Finals of the US Open to-night.   Hugs Rita xx

Here comes Summer

Hello folks, and a warm welcome to my new followers and I hope you enjoyed your visit.   My title is very tongue in cheek as the sun here is blinking through the sky.  My card to-day is very vintage and I have used a good number of techniques on it too. My base card is cream hammered card with a layer of gold card matted on top.  I made the background paper using the resist and distressed it with inks. The Image is a stamp from Crafty Individuals, and a pleasure to stamp. I used promarker to add some colour along with glitter on the wings.  I put it on a Darice embossing folder that I cut out and again I distressed it and added a few pearls.  My butterfly and dragonfly have been done with grunge paper and crackle accents. I've also added a little posy set on cream lace that I tea dyed.  My sentiment is from LOTV and the ribbon and pin is from my stash.   Whilst I've been writing the sun is shining and we have lovely blue sky, I hope it lasts.   Hope you all enjoy your week-end and manage to get in some crafting too.

Tim Holtz 2012 Tags September

Now, if you think I am way out of my comfort zone , you would most certainly be right.  I had such fun making this tag and I followed Tim's tutorial to the letter, but  as I've only started my collection of all things Tim, so  I hope he won't mind that I've used what I had in my stash to create my  Tag for September 2012.   I used the alcohol inks in Denim, Terracotta and Butterscotch to add the colour to the metal and what a lovely surprise when I saw the colours mixed to-gether.  At this point I really didn't want to use the steel wool to sand it down,  but I did and here is the result.  My nib was one of TH stamps that I stamped and rusted a little bit to make it look aged.  Most of the pieces I used under the metal sheets were a pull ring, chinese coins, and a supersize paper clip.  I think I have covered most of how I made my Tag.  I hope you will give this technique a try as its so much fun watching it all come to-gether.   Enjoy your day.

WOYWW 170

Good Morning folks, Sorry I'm late as I have just realized its Wednesday again and time for WOYWW 170.  We have such a beautiful day here and I was sitting in the garden having my coffee when I thought what day is it.  So I have quickly taken a picture, and here I am in time to have a nosey around the world at everyones craftspace. Mine is a mixture of things this week as I have been multitasking, a thing we crafters do so well.  Hope your all enjoy this late sunny spell and making the most of it.  Hugs Rita xx

'Flowers'

Yes, folks we are into September and the days are certainly getting shorter. Hopefully we have a nicer Autumn than we did a Summer.  This weeks challenge at 'Sunday Stampers'  is Flowers, and Hels has made it a tribute to the lovely Max Bygraves who sadly passed away last week. My card has been made by using a few different techniques, all thanks to the Princess of Paint for introducing me to Dylusion ink sprays ( see, I do pay attention).  My background was created by crumpling up some glassine paper and literally spraying the colours.Its certainly a messy inky job.  I used London Blue, Bubblegum Pink and Pure Sunshine.  I then embossed it with an M-Bossibilities folder to give some more texture. Then I matted and layer it into 3 pieces before putting it on to my card. I finished it off with some Spellbinders dies and of course some of my favourite hand-made flowers using the matching colours and finished it off with an organza bow.  I really enjoyed making this card even though it took me a while. Funninly enough I'm never in a hurry when I'm crafting and having fun.   I am also entering my card into FSC Challenge 29 which is Handmade Flowers. This is my first time doing the FSC too.

Blue Christmas

Hello my friends and a very warm welcome to my new followers.  I hope you might get some inspiration here on my blog.  Well, I have been trying out some designs to make for my (Posting) Christmas cards this year as the royal mail have put up their prices again.  Anyway, to-day's card was from Joanna Sheen CD Rom 'Christmas Creations' and I did use this CD lots of times last year as the artwork on it is fabulous.  I used a lightweight linen card to run off the picture, and sprayed it with spray & sparkle aerosol. My background was hammered card that I stamped with a Sheena Douglas pine tree stamp using Versamark Smokey Grey then I distressed it with Tumbled Glass & Chipped Sapphire, I gave it a spray with perfect pearls to add some lustre.  I matted and layered the image on to the card and added a sentiment to the finished card.  Enjoy your Day.  Hugs Rita xx
