Memo Pad

Hello everyone. Isn't it funny how your day can change in the blink of an eye. well my eye did blink this morning when I saw Selma's Memo pad and of course its very beautiful as is all her work, and it was for a challenge over at Joan's Gardens . So instead of doing some boring old ironing I set too with my card and punches and surprized myself how easy it was to do. I think you'll agree it would make a lovely little 'Thank-You gift' or maybe just to raise funds for something. I used Brown & Turquoise card for mine and punched a border with a Martha Stewart punch. The flowers I had made previously using Donna-Salazar Rose Creations dies. The leaves were Spellbinders foloiage and they both came in really handy for this project. Hope you like it as much as I do and maybe give it a go.  Enjoy your Day.  Hugs Rita xxxxx

WOYWW

Its hard to imagine a week has passed since my first WOYWW and here I am again letting you view my creative craft space.  The sun is shining so brightly it hard to get a decent picture. Hope you've all had a good week crafting and keeping busy. Bird Song

What a wonderful spell of weather we are have at the moment. The birds are builing their nests and singing happily away in the sunshine.  Over at Sunday Stampers 198 this week the theme is Birds, and I really don't have much at all in that way of stamps etc, and was about to give up,when I thought surely there must be something I could do. And so my card to-day was born.  I used 2 different musical embossing folders and distressed them and added a sentiment fro m Sheena Doulas's stamps a little bit sketchy. My only bird die was Marianne ,so I decided to use that along with a little frame.  I'm really chuffed that I managed to do the challenge instead of just giving up. . Wedding Bag & Gift Wallet

Goodmorning Crafters. A lovely start to the day, with all this gorgeous sunshine coming in through the windows. OH is in the garden and no doubt I will lend a hand as the day goes on.  To-day I am showing the Wedding card bag and Gift wallet that actually matches up with Friday's card.  Hope you all have a lovely day and find some time for relaxing too, something us women don't know much about. Wedding Card

Hi Everyone, hope your enjoying this lovely spring weather. Thank-You to All my new followers and comments on my first visit to WOYWW  recently. It was great fun and I now have met lots of lovely crafters who create beautiful work.
 My card to-day seemed to take forever to finish as I had to give up yesterday and take a rest. However, I managed it finished for you to see to-day ,although I still have a bag and a money wallet to do as a matching set.
Its my usual 8X8 card using white hammered 300gsm card, Apart from a little bit of distressing on the embossing  and some pink pearls as the centre of the flowers its mainly a white card. Marianne dies have played a big part of this card with Nellie Snellon heart that I adore for cards like this one. I make the little doves and flowers myself and the small book at the top is a spellbinders die.  Hopefull I'll be back to-morrow with the bag and wallet. WOYWW

Well, this is certainly a first for me. Showing off my mess to all and sundry. Maybe, just maybe it will make me keep both desks a little more respectable. On saying that I'm happiest when using lots of of different things and getting inky and messy, but I do tend to have a tidy up before bedtime each night.

Now I have started I better remember to do this every Wednesday.  Off to Physio this morning, I,m longing for a day without hospital visits etc.  Happy Crafting.  Hugs Rita xxxx

Sunday Stampers 197. Paper Roses

Hope you all had a lovely week-end and such lovely spring weather too. Over at Sunday Stampers its Paper Roses theme this week. Most of you already know that ribbons and roses are what I love on most of my cards. However, I have created a tag for this weeks challenge mostly in rustic coloured distress inks with some greens and browns to give it depth, finished off with some cosmic shimmer bronze.  The Visage image was a freebie from Craft Stamper a while ago and the guitar was made by my daughter using her melting pot. The rose I made using  glassine paper stamped with HC Botanical Florals and is from a tutorial by Glenda Brooks. Where would I be without all the kind crafters who so inspire me in my attemps to be creative.  All your lovely comments are so appreciated.  Hugs Rita xxxx

My Mothers Day cards

Happy Mothers Day to all of you and I hope you are enjoying your day. So far I have had a lovely day. I thought you might like to see the cards that my two lovely daughters made me specially for to-day. The first one was created by my eldest who is a huge Tim Holtz fan and she designed this card especially for me. I was taken aback when I saw it as its so beautiful. It was Anne that first got me into card-making after being a British Bear Artist for 12 years. You can see more of Annes creations on her Blog.  Carolyn my youngest daughter made the second card and again loves distressing, as you can see both cards are fantastic, her lovely children Hamish and Molly also love making their own cards as well. Hope you don't mind me showing you their creations.  My son has said he will need to give it a try, but we won't hold our breath on that one.  Hugs Rita xxx

Wedding Card

I can hardly believe its the week-end already. Where does time go?. I have been crafting most of the day and have had the windows open as its so lovely and sunny, long may it continue. A wedding card for you to-day and a bit OTT with flowers and butterflies. My crafting seems to be pretty mixed these last few months as I try to create new designs.  Maybe the weather does have something to do with crafting after all.  Most of my card has been created by using my favourite Marianne dies and of course I did have use a few Spellbinders too.I hope you approve of what I've done.  Hope you All have a lovely week-end . 70th Birthday Card ( 2nd Edition )

Well, I did something that I have not done before. I needed a card for a 70th Birthday and loved the card I did for Sunday Stampers a couple of weeks ago. So I took it back a few stages and built it up again adding some new elements to make this finished card. Sunday Stampers 196 Misty

For the first time I managed to start my Sunday Stampers challenge card on a Sunday LOL. I wanted to make a card and used black as my base, using cream card and a mask that was coloured using spray mists Gold Fish & Sunlight Mist I got the look that I wanted. Taking it a step further and using alcohol inks, mixatives and blending solution I made the background. I used gold mirri card for layering added lots of embellishments and I stamped the Artistic Stamper watch and used glossy accents on the face, then stamped Dream and and added my little quote and this is my finished Creation for this weeks challenge. I have to say I really enjoyed doing this one. Messy but Fun. Hope you all have a great week. Hugs Rita xx

Diamonds are Forever

Between hospital visits and Physio appts I feel as if I'm never at home. However, I did get to a craft show yesterday at SECC Glasgow with my friend,and had a super day. We met up with some crafting friends and enjoyed our lunch to-gether. To-day I have struggled to finish a card for Sunday Stampers, this week the theme is diamonds and so I thought about engagements again. Using a label and the lattice embossing folder I then distressed it using 3 distress inks. I added some  chipped shaped butterflies that I also inked and crackled. My rose was made using Hels Tutorial and I'm very pleased with the result. The leaves are spellbinders rose creations.  Hope you enjoy looking at my cards. Engagement Card

Hello everyone, So sorry for not getting a card finished yesterday, but I think I overdid it on Sunday and my hand was really painful. However, I managed to get it finished to-day. Its an 8X8 card in white and I used the lattice embossing folder to give a bit of texture before adding the Marianne Heart and Corners. I embellished it with a few diamonte gems and added a few flowers and leaves to add a bit of colour.  Now another bit of news and  keeping it in the family of course, My eldest daughter Anne who got me started card-making about 5 years ago has now joined blogland  and you can see her artistic works on her blog http://curiousncraftytreasures.blogspot.com/

Friendship Card

Hi, 
I hope everyone is looking forward to the week-end. My card to-day was created using a Marianne die/embossing folder that I love. All I did was add a few die cuts ,made a rose last night from Hels Sheridan's instructions . Stamped my sentiment added a few gems and my card was complete.
