A New Adventure and Exciting News

Good Morning Everyone.   Hope you are all enjoying the May Bank holiday,  weather here is dry and looks as if the sun is going to show its golden head.
Today,  I have the most exciting news to share with you,  can you tell how excited I am at becoming one of The Fiskarettes design team.   Fiskars is certainly not new to me as a tailoress   I have used their scissors in my work for more years than I care to remember,  and even whilst bear-making they played a big part in that too.   This is a big challenge for me and hopefully I can bring you something different.  There is still time to enter the current challenge over at Fiskarettes ( the logo is on my side bar).
My card today was made from my bits box or shall I be truthful ( boxes ).  It will be a journey of discovery for me,  but one I am looking forward to and I'll always try my best to show something different.   So here is the card that I made to remind myself of what challenges are all about.   Before I go I really want to say thank you to all of you as we learn together on my journey.     Hugs Rita xxxx

Christmas Card Club. Challenge 11: Gifts

Good Morning Everyone.   Hope you are all well and those who a suffering I hope you get well soon.
Here we are again another 2 weeks since our last challenge,  and this time it was the lovely Zoe who chose the theme.   Gifts seemed a lovely challenge till I could not find my one and only stamp.   So my card today believe it or not is decoupaged in four layers and the camera will not play games, no matter how much I tried .   I used an 8 X 8 card and matted it with gold mirri card before adding my decoupaged image.    I still enjoy the therapeutic side that cutting out.   Lots going on here at the moment,  but no word yet on Andrew's operation.  Another lovely day, but not as nice as yesterday.   Hope to get round to seeing your blogs and having a catch up later today.

Delicate Box to hold a Scarf

Hello Everyone.   Well, our dear friends Anne R  and her hubby David left this morning after being in Ayrshire for a week.  The weather was pretty mixed with a few good sunny days, not as good as last year though.
 On Saturday  Anne and I did a bit of crafting whilst the men watched football,  then yesterday we had a Crafty Day at Annies and Astrid came along too.   It went very quickly as we got down and inky  together creating and crafting for most of the day.   They certainly all played their part in getting me crafting again and I got lots of inspiration too.   Good Food , Good Crafting and not to forget Good Chat.    It won't be long till next year and we get to do it all again.    Missing them already.
I'm sharing a rectangular box I made for Annie a few years ago and had forgot to take a picture.  It is made from pink pearl card and I made the flowers and added a lace and ribbon border. 
I actually did a bit of re-organization in my craft room today as it had been sadly neglected for over a month.   Now I feel like a few challenges are taking place in my head ,so here's to what I do next.    Lots of Grateful Thanks to you All.   Hugs Rita xxx

A Day at the Trossachs with Good Company.

Hi Folks,   Hope you are all well and steadily crafting.   Lots of comforting Hugs for those who are suffering.
Well,  What a tonic I have been given this week,  spent in the company of my dear friends Anne & David.   We truly have crammed as much as is possible into this week so far.   Today has been wet with sunny intervals.   However,  I am going to let you see some of the pictures from our day on Thursday.    Annie was our driver for the day, we started out and headed for Luss as both Anne & David loved the series Take the High Road and most of it took place here,  after a lovely lunch we headed to Cameron House and really enjoyed our visit here,  lots of laughter after the four of us got stuck in the lift,  but we were released very quickly by a lovely manager.  After some well needed refreshments,  we headed for Balloch and took the Gartocharn road to Balmaha,  where we had dinner.   The sun shone brightly the whole day through and we arrived home tired and weary around 8.00pm.   These are a few of the pictures I took and I made Anne R a Tim Holtz bag which she was delighted with to say the least.  I really do feel so much better now and so does Andrew.   Aren't friends wonderful.   Thank-You to Annie for making this day happen.      Love & Hugs Rita xxxx

Special Birthday Card

Hi Everyone.   Its been a gorgeous day here ,but still a bit windy too.  Great for the washing though.
As most of you know I have been pretty irregular at posting in the last few months,  however,  all that was about to change last week,  when Annie asked if I'd made her card yet,  so she said she would like an envelope style card this year with lots of mixed media work on it.   So I gave it a go and as her birthday is today I can show you her card.    A few weeks ago our dear friend Astrid did a similar card and so I used her guidelines  to get the measurements etc.     So with out further ado here is Annies card and she loved it too,   she did this to help get my mojo up and running again and it worked.    Looking forward to the arrival of Anne Redfern and her husband David,   hope the weather gets a bit better as we have a few trips  organized and they also want to go over to Arran .   Next Monday Astrid is coming through and we are all going over to Annies for a craft 'n chat day.

Christmas Card Club. Challenge 10: A Village Scene.

Hello,  My Friends and Followers.    I hope you have all had a good week whatever you have been doing.  Comforting Hugs as always to those who are ill at the moment.   I know the summer months take its toll on most of us,   and we certainly have more chores to do. 
However,  on to the CCC challenge 10 , for this fortnight it was my turn to choose,   and as I love wintry scenes of any kind it had to be a Village Scene for this one.  I chose an image from Penny Parker that I love and used versamark ink and glittered it.   The vellum Poinsettia was not one of my own and was from the lovely Sam on FB.   The sentiment is from Sheena Douglas,  another of my favourite artists.   I really hope you enjoyed this one and if you have time please pop over and visit my colleagues whose names are on my sidebar.

Stampin Up Card for Jan

Hi Everyone.    Hope you are all well and crafting away in this very mixed weather we are getting at the minute.  Today is beautiful with sunshine and blue skies.    I have had sciatica in my hip and back since last week and felt better when standing as the pain was really bad.  Thankfully it has eased a bit today, so fingers crossed its going away.   
We had some bad news last week that Andrews oldest brother had died aged 93,   a great age and he kept himself fit by walking and enjoyed a really good life,  latterly he was caring for his wife who had not been well for many years.  
Today's card is one that I made to send to my friend Jan as she has came through so much in the last year.   We were out for lunch last Wednesday and really enjoyed ourselves.    So really I wanted to make her a card that was fairly minimalistic and just tell her how strong she has been.     I have had these stamps since Christmas and this is the first card I have made using them.  The stamps and the inks were both from Stampin Up and I have to say I enjoyed using them.    Hoping to get Annie's Birthday card done this afternoon and it certainly will be very different.
