" Words "

My card to-day is one that I've done for Hel's over at Sunday Stampers. The theme this week was " words ".  Most of us use words everyday of our lives, some nice and some we better not talk about. LOL. Especially when things go wrong in our crafting. Anyway, I've just fell in love with these new stamps from Paper Artsy. I made an easel car with GN scalloped ovals and distressed the top piece with Spring colours DI. I overstamped with cogs and hands to create a background for the lovely Clockwork Twins. It was a pleasure to embellish them with crackle accents and gems etc. I used the large cogs and the word "Listen" to give it some height and finished the front panel with the sentiment.  The base, I used Fired Brick & Spring colours again just to brighten it up, before adding more words to finish the card. WOYWW Anniversary

Congratulations to Julia at the stamping ground on her 3rd Anniversary. If you'd like to know more then visit Julia theStamping Ground. My desk this morning is overloaded ,but I really do know what I'm doing. LOL.  The images on the front are for another challenge and I hope to get it finished to-day. However, I do hope to visit most of you as I never seem to get round everyone. Diamond Wedding Card

My card to-day is one that I was asked to make by my hairdresser for her Gran & Papa. Lots of bling as you can imagine.  The base card is 8" X 8" and I used 2 X SB Heart Squares and cut each one in two to give me large corners to make my diamond. I backed them with adhesive diamond shimmer paper.  The centrepiece consists of one large silver Heart Square and a smaller white one, I then added one of the ironworks motifs before adding the flowers, the large white gardenia I made myself and the 2 small ones are from Wild Orchids. I added a few fern branches and a ribbon bow before blinging it with diamonte gems in 2 sizes. There are 60 of them all to-gether.  Just to make the bag now.  Another Hot, Hot ,Hot day here in the West Coast of Scotland to-day. Pure Vintage

Hello my blogging friends, isn't this weather just wonderful.  Mind you I have had a bad migrainne the last 2 days, maybe the sun, but I hope not. However, I felt a bit better this afternoon and finished a card I started on Friday night. I was sent the images by Tracy at Cardmaker's Delight and all she asked was that I made a card. Well I can tell you now I was spoilt for choice as these are most delightful images to work with, so please pay a visit. My base card is dark brown and I used a left over frame in marl/cream colours. The backing paper was the paper bag that the images came in and I distressed it a bit and added a piece of crimped card and a lattice SB to give some height. I then added the images & quite honestly the card looked lovely ,but me being me had to add some flowers from Wild Orchids and a lace bow. The feather came from my SIL, as he has lovely birds that leave their feathers around the garden and it reminded me of a quill pen for some reason. The beautiful pin was given to me by my friend Elizabeth on our day out. I do enjoy creating vintage cards.

WOYWW Week 155

Another Wednesday and our day for a peek at other crafters work space, big or small  it doesn't matter as long as we're happy crafters.  If you go over to Julia at the Stamping Ground you will be able to join us every week.  Sorry I have been Awol the last 2 weeks Julia, but I did send my apologies.  However, I managed to get a picture of my desk as it is this week, one desk messy and the other one tidy, go on take your pick.  Had a lovely week and met up with a fellow WOYWWer last week Elizabeth from Silver Scrappers and we had lunch to-gether and a lovely chat. Sunday Stampers Week 206 Circles

Good morning crafters. I hope you all had a lovely week-end, the weather here in Scotland is lovely at the moment.   Anyway, over at Sunday Stampers the lovely Hels has chosen "Circles " as the theme for this week. Just like me on most days ,going round in circles. LOL. I started off with a brown base card and a couple of matted layers before adding a piece that I embossed and used DI to give it some colour. Then I used some SB dies to cut my circles and inked them also. The beautiful stamp I used was one that I stamped recently at a friends crafting day, it was a wooden stamp from years ago seemingly, but if anyone knows who made it I would love to know. The large butterflies were Joycrafts and I crackled them and used distress stains to colour as in TH book .  After a lot of faffing I really enjoyed this challenge.  Enjoy your day.  Hugs from a Sunny Scotland.    Rita xx

Anniversary Card

Hi Everyone, what a lovely time I had to-day. I met up with Elizabeth (aka Silver Scrapper) for lunch to-day and what a lovely person she is too. We spent over 3 hours chatting, we really had so much in common it was unbelievable. I received a beautiful tag and a lovely goody bag of crafty things. We decided we would meet again next month too. So a great afternoon was had by both of us. 
My card to-day was made for my younger Daughter & Son-in-law for their anniversay to-day. With my craftroom being upside down at the moment I manage to create a card using a butterfly embossing folder that I distressed with Dusty Concord, Milled Lavender and Tumbled Glass.  I used some die cuts I had already cut and managed to put the card to-gether with the help of a bow and a few gems.  Hope you enjoyed your day.  Hugs Rita xxx

Vintage Wall Hanging

Hello Again, Missed you all and need to have a serious catch up to see what you have all been up too.  Not had access to my computers for over a week now as the house repairs were completed. Still lots to do ,like putting my craft room back to normal again. However, I did manage to create a special birthday gift for my Crafty Daughter Annie and now that she has it, I can let you see what I did.  I started out with a shaped piece of mount board that had been in my stash for a while and  made a frame to fit in the middle and I covered it with pieces of an old book  and then distressed it and varnished it  After putting my sentiment in the centre I started to decorate it with most of the things that mean a lot to her over the years. The steampunk dress form is one of Sam Poole's stamps from Creative Expressions, and I used fusible fibre to the the wings to add a bit of colour. I am a tailoresss and so the scissors and other bits and pieces were always a part of her life too.   Hope you enjoy seeing my work.   I will endeavour to answer all comments and as you know I appreciate them all. " Spring "

Hello Everyone.  At the moment it is still beautifully sunny here in Scotland. My tag to-day is all about what Spring means and was created for Snazzy's DT blog, where the Theme is Spring.. I used an embossiong folder on the tag itself and then distressed it a bit using scattered straw and tumbled glass to give a lovely bright look. The flowers were made by a punch and again I used inks to get the colour I wanted. The swirls and frond are both Marianne dies and the verse was a stamp from Inkylicious.  I added a butterfly and a ladybird as both remind me of Spring with Summer on its way ( hopefully )  In fact ,I have seen more Bees and Butterflies around even though its still fairly chilly on some days. WOYWW week152

Good Morning Everyone.Another day of snooping over at the lovely Julia's Stamping Ground.  I thought I would get up a bit earlier and move up the list a bit, but I'm afraid not, I need to be up at the crack of dawn it seems.  However, I hope you all had a really good and creative week.  My desk was actually pictured  last evening. I was doing so many things yeaterday and trying to do a few challenges as well as a card. Not very tidy I'm afraid, but I have enjoyed my mess.  Have a Good Day.   Rita xxx

SS Challenge 203 Red

Morning All. Hope you are busy crafting to-day. My mojo had a few days off and I had to fight to make it return. However, this week over at Hels challenge the theme for this week is Red, not a colour I use very much apart from Christmas time.  My main card is white layered with red, I then used a SB die and a lovely little sentiment from Artistic Outpost stamped on white card to highlight the die.  I made the flower from a punch , I used 4 layers all distressed ( Worn Lipstick, Barn Door & Fired Brick ) and I really am pleased with outcome. The ferns are a Marianne die and the little butterfly is a die from Joycrafts.  Hope you like my effort.   Have a lovely Day .    Hugs Rita xx
