Hello Everyone, Hope you are all keeping nice and warm as the weather has turned rather chilly, not complaining though as it is still dry up here in the West of Scotland. Soon after joining the Fiskarettes Design Team I saw a beautiful cushion that Carol Hay had created and of course I had to have a go. I did do a tartan patchwork quilt many, many years ago. I had never actually done a design in cotton. So today I can now show you my finished cushion that was made from fabric I had in my fabric stash. It was so much fun and I found it relaxing to sit at my new sewing machine Singer Confidence Quilter. I saw it whilst watching Create and Craft one day and really liked it, so when Andrew said just treat yourself that's just what I did.
My lovely daughter Annie arrived back on Thursday and brought me back a load of fabulous goodies from Sanfrancisco. I am hoping it gives me the kick up the jacksy that I need to get going again. So after lunch I am returning to my craft room and see what I fancy doing. Thank You all for being so patient with me.
Hugs to all. Rita xxx

It looks fab Rita. Look forward to seeing more. xxx
Hello Rita, what a gorgeous piece of quilting, lovely cusion design and colours. My friend Dale is the quilter and sewer, and like you she makes fabulous pieces. I'm having a go at it at the sewing group I go to, but I wouldn't put myself in the category of quilter yet. Hope Andrew is still improving and that you are feeling much better, take care, Kate x
Such a beautiful quilted cushion Rita, you have done a great job with it and now you have some new goodies to play with, enjoy.

Gorgeous work Rita!!! Such a professional finish - no surprise there as you are such a talented seamstress. So glad you got some crafty stash from the US courtesy Annie :) Jenny x
Hi Rita,
what a very beautiful cushion, and wonderful work.
Love the fab colour, and design.
Do hope Andrew is progressing nicely after his op, and you are feeling okay.
It's very hard on the stress levels when our other halves are not A1.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
Your quilted cover is fantastic, I love the design. I do hope your new goodies do tempt you back, you have been missed! Hope Andrew is still making good progress. Hugs, Anne xx
A really gorgeous quilted cushion Rita - I love the blues - beautiful fabrics that compliment each other beautifully. I love your goodies too - enjoy these - hugs rachel xx
A beautiful cushion Rita...do envy you your sewing skills, not something I picked up despite my Nana's best efforts to teach me. Love your new stash too and look forward to seeing what you so with it. Carol x
It's lovely Rita, and the colors look so pretty together. That is a most unusual quilt pattern too. (and I hear you about the fabric stash...got tons of it & once I got into rubber stamping, I'm not sewing). This sounds like a fantastically useful new machine, and I'm so glad you treated yourself. You deserve it. Bet you got lots of great goodies from the SF trip (I hope, I hope), and I also hope that Andrew is continuing to mend on schedule. You have been stressed over this surgery for so long, and you certainly deserve a break if you choose to take one! Enjoy it, we'll all be here when you want to rejoin blogging. TFS & Have a great week.
