Ladies Bowling

Hello again Everyone.  We have another gorgeous sunny day here on the west coast, this is our third week of sunshine, but it has been very cold.  Hope the weather where you are is behaving itself too, it makes such a difference to everyday life.
My card and box to-day is what I have made for my dear friend Jan as on Saturday she is being installed as President of the local bowling club.  She asked if I would be her guest that day, so I am looking forward to that, not that I bowl, but I have done some curling in the past.  Anyway, on to my creation, it had to be different and this is what I put to-gether.
I used the 'Wrinklies' CD from La Pashe to get the backing papers and the image, and I think you'll agree the clarity of the picture is fabulous. It has been decoupaged ,although its hard to see.   I used the die cut picket fence to edge the bottom edge of the card put my verse on the back.  This was a real fun card to create.  I had to make the box 3" deep as the rounded panels are fairly high when laid flat.  Still got the label to do though.  To-morrow I'm going to finish painting the kitchen and enjoy a glass of wine when I finish.   Thank-you for all your kind comments and sharing your beautiful cards with me. I think the crafting community is 'Simply the Best'.  Hugs Rita  xxxx

Wow!!! Rita this is awesome. I adore this creation, it is so cleverly thought out. Your friend is going to adore it and treasure it for ever. I have just scheduled a DT card posting using this CDROM. It will not appear for quite awhile as I do make my cards in advance when I can.

Hi Rita, brilliant card and box and congratulations to your friend, Jan. She is going to love this card. My mother was a dedicated bowler in her day - went all over the country playing, as did my step-father, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I well remember her dressed in the 'uniform' on her way to the bowling club in Kilmaurs - good days well remembered.

And on the subject of weather, it has been extremely cold. I've had to don my thermals! But the garden is as dry as a bone - we haven't had rain for weeks and I've just noticed today that even the big pots need a watering. No need to panic though, the EM tells me it's going to rain tomorrow!!!

Hope you are keeping well and when it's a bit warmer we will have to meet up, perhaps take that trip up to Cardwells :)

Hugs, Elizabeth xx

Oh my goodness gracious! What a delightful card. Your imagine did print out so clearly & your dimensional work that you added is so perfect with this. And what an appropriate sentiment! I know decoupage from back in the '60's when we did it on wood with images...is that the same technique I read about as 'decoupage' on a card...where one adds layers of mod podge or some other glue? Sounds very interesting. And it made a wonderful card. Enjoy your wine! SC has had lovely weather for the last few days. Going from heat to a/c it seems. TFS & Hugs
