Its a Blue Christmas card

Well, here I am as promised, a bit later than I thought mind you.  Still got a few things to clear away in my cupboard, but nothing like the mess I gave myself.   I used to be so organised when I was working , but since retiring I have totally changed.  Never mind, the card that made today was the first of this years Christmas cards and like most of us I'm trying to keep the postage down a little bit where I can.  So with that in mind I chose an image from the Giordano Collection by Joanna Sheen.
The basic card is white with a blue matted layer.on top. I then used a mask through the Grand Calibur and using distress inks in Pumice stone, Weathered Wood and Stormy Sky  all touched up with wax and that was to be my background. The image again was layered with silver hologram card and added to the card. At this stage I used my glue pen and glamour dust to highlight the snow etc ( not very noticeable ) The Merry Christmas is a die from Cheery Lynn and the snowflakes with a Martha Stewart punch and I added some tiny diamonte's to them give it some blind.  First one of many still to come.
Hope you are all having a good day.  Hugs Rita xxxx
ps: I was really overwhelmed by the comments on both my canvases and I think I'm hooked. xx

This was in my youngest daughter's kitchen, and I thought it was hilarious.

I need that set of house rules here with four men in the house Rita!!! Mind you, I'd probably find it covered in an inch of dust (drawn in of course) and splattered with something weird very quickly - LOL! Back to the card, love what you've done with your mask and inks, and totally appreciate where you are coming from with the postage issues.
Enjoy making a mess. Hugs, Jenny x

Your card as a touch of that wonderful vintage style of years ago. I always loved hanging my grandmothers Christmas cards up for her. Beautifully done Rita. Hugs!

Hi Rita,
fab card. Love that image and your design.
I lurve these house rules. Such a great thing to have in the kitchen. Me thinks some how that the only one who will adhere to these set of rules is your daughter herself. lol.
Have a wonderful crafty day.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

A truly nice and pretty Christmas card Rita. Love those snowflakes and the blue color rather than the usual red and green.
Your daughter rules for the house are so true.

Great card Rita, love it all. I really love the image and the colours.
I have mine almost all made. I do not make any Christmas cards to sell, people can buy packets at such cheap prices they don't really spend on Handmade unless they "special order".

Love those House Rules.

Wish I'd had that set of house rules as my kids were growing up, it might have made a difference lol.
Love your card and the background you made for the lovely image. I think we will all be using less embellishments on our Christmas cards again this year.
See you soon.
