Rachel chose Vintage as our theme for this fortnight's challenge . Sorry Rachel, it was a bit last minute as I forgot it was this weekend. However, I managed to make a card and it actually looks much nicer in reality than the picture shows. I used one of my friend Astrid's free images from a few years ago, and it has always been a favourite of mine. I decoupaged the little birds , and added a cinnamon stick and some tiny pine cones highlighted with treasured gold. The stamp was a freebie from a magazine and I finished the card of with a hessian bow. Enjoy your Weekend. Hugs Rita xxx

Christmas Card Club Challenge 8 . Vintage
Good Morning Everyone. Hopefully you have been enjoying the gorgeous sunshine over the last few days. Mostly I have been in the garden, something I never attended too before. However, I have enjoyed it and apart from some potting I will soon be finished. I have also been sewing and knitting a lot recently, hence my absence from blogging. I did finally finish my Shetland Cobweb Lace Scarf and now I am knitting men's socks. Will put a picture of my scarf in tomorrows post as today is all about CCC.

A stunning card Rita, love how you used the little birds to embellish your card! So glad you could use one of my papers too, - wow that is a really old one....
The weather here has been wonderful too, but today it's grey and raining. Have a wonderful Sunday and I look forward to see more of what you have been up to!

Great card Rita and love that background paper. The embellishments look super - particularly the cinnamon stick. Makes me think of mulled wine and it's nowhere near Christmas yet ... lol! Hugs Christine xx

This is so lovely, Rita. Those wee birds are so pretty. I am off to check out your friends blog link!
We have been working in our new garden too, so I know how that takes up time. Finished the potting up and now have moved to the perennial beds...guess I should say the future perennial beds as DH is still struggling to dig and build them! lol

Rita, this is definitely a vintage look, and so very lovely. At first I thought you'd done the Brusho background, until I enlarged the pic & could see all the pretty details. So beautiful in the gray shades, and your tiny decoupaged birdies with the natural embellies was wonderful. Don't feel badly about forgetting...I mixed up Easter weekend! Glad you're having some pleasant weather to be able to get outside & enjoy gardening. Happy Sunday, and hope all is well. TFS
That looks more like the makings of a beautiful shadow box then a card, Rita! It is simply divine with all that texture and I'll bet it even smells heavenly!! Enjoy the beautiful spring weather - perhaps you can knit in the newly trimmed garden! Hugs, Darnell
