Sheena Douglas ' Highlands '

Well, I'm so glad I'm not in the 'Highlands ' to-day, its been raining non-stop and just a day to be in the house really.  I watched the Sheena Show before I went on holiday, and ordered the stamps to be sent to my holiday address. It was only yesterday that I felt up to having a play with them, I cheated a bit as I used the same setting as Sheena did, but boy I had fun making this card. The background was created with 4 distress ink colours on Centura pearlised card and the effect is stunning, much nicer in situ so to speak. All the sillouettes were embossed with 'Wow' black sparkle. I matted and layered it with black & gold, then I put it on an 8 X 8 ins card that I had matted with Tartan paper. I have not put a sentiment on yet as I'm not sure what it will be used for. Hope you get some inspiration from my card.  Enjoy your Day.  Hugs Rita xxx

Rita, what a lovely scene and the plaid background is wonderful! I saw that you were from Scotland over on my friend Glenda's blog and I wanted to stop by and tell you I lived outside Pitcaple by Inverurie in the early 90's and loved it. Such a small world! Have a wonderful day in Scotland!

Hi Rita, great card - love the collage of stamps and the tartan paper makes a perfect backdrop. I succumbed to temptation and got those stamps too but haven't taken scissors to rubber yet ... it's on my to-do list :) I did treat myself to some H2Os yesterday with the intention of doing a background or two with them a la Sheena - her's always look impressive. Wow Rita, this evokes thoughts of the highlands straight away (or what I remember of them), your colour choices are gorgeous and I love those silhouette stamps - I guess you could use them for Christmas cards too, so very versatile. The tartan paper is perfect and I love the little sentiment holder, that is a very nice die. Hope the weather picks up for you, ours is just as bad as yours! Crafty hugs, Anne x

Hi Rita,
I book marked your blog and every time I looked at it there was no post, or thats what I thought. Well now to your card what a wonderful card so superbly done. Your stamping is amazing too. I think your right the camera doesn't do it justice. Would be lovely to see in the flesh so to speak.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

Hi
Well the rain has been horrendous again and we've also had thunderstorms as well today.
Majestic is the word that immediately came to mind. A stunning background for the scene you created.
