Hello Folks. Hope you are all enjoying some nice sunny days as the last 2 days have been really sunny here. Long may it continue before Autumn & Winter descend upon us once again. Imagine that 2 weeks have passed since our last challenge over at the CCC. The theme for Challenge 16 is Layers and was chosen by the lovely Lorrraine.
My interpretation of Layers has to be decoupage, as this is where I started out making cards. I still enjoy it today, even though I have got into mixed media and other crafts. My card today has 5 layers although it is hard to detect with the picture. I do love Poinsettias at Christmas time, so I hope you like my choice for this challenge. Andrew will not have his knee operation till early September now as both consultants are on holiday in August. Like everyone else on waiting lists we just have to stay put for now. It really is getting us down now, but we are not alone. Enjoy your Weekend. Hugs Rita xxxx

So sorry to hear the surgery is postponed. Hope you keep enjoying pretty weather. We are still hot here and looking forward to Fall. I love your card. The pretty poinsettia flowers are a nice addition to the pretty white layer in the back. Love that die cut!
Lovely card Rita.

Good morning Rita,
Oh! No! not another delay. I know they all need holidays BUT!!!!!
As you say you are not the only ones. However your the only ones that be really matter to you!
Love, love, love, your stunning card.
The Poinsettias look so beautiful, as is the whole design.
That's Hazel's daughters wedding over, she might get some extra free time soon.
However our holiday together is just one month away.
We might just manage to squeeze in a "meet up" before then
Hugs for both of you

Lots of lovely layered Poinsettias, gorgeous, xxxx
Gorgeous card Rita, hope the op can really be done in September, waiting is always so hard. Hugs, Valerie
This such a gorgeous creation Rita. Really beautiful colours and layout.
Sorry Andrew has to wait yet again for his operation. Hubby can't move from the house as he is pouring of blood all the time, we will find out I hope on Wednesday what hospitals list he is going to be put on and the estimated wait as they can't do his op at our local hospital.
Hugs
Cathy

Oh Rita I am so sorry that Andrew has to wait even longer - it must be soooo frustrating for you both. I feel very guilty that I seem to have got my foot done so quickly. Your card is a stunner! I love all those wonderful decoupaged layers. My Mum used to love decoupage and I still have all her cards! No sun shining here today so I do hope it stays with you! Jennie x
Beautiful card Rita. The poinsettia are stunning and very attractive. Glad you have good weather we do too today and it just cheers us all! Zx
Your card is absolutely gorgeous Rita, really beautiful. I think lots of us started with decoupage...I still love to do it too. Hope Andrew's op goes ahead early Sept, it's been a long year for you both so far! Carol x
Beautiful, elegant, and so very beautiful! I can imagine this took some time and patience. I used to do a lot of decoupage but my fingers struggle with all the fussy cutting these days. Someone is getting to get this beautiful card and will treasure it! Sorry about your DH's op, these waiting lists are hard for everyone on them. Hope you have a good week Karen x
This is gorgeous, love the poinsettias.Fingers are crossed hubby's op goes ahead in September.
Hugs

brilliant and beautiful Rita - I love your card - its gorgeous!! Hugs Rachel x
Oh Rita, I am so sorry andrews op has been delayed again, I know it doesn't help you feel any better, but I am sure they are breaking their policies on how long he has waited, if they hadn't delaied so much at the beginning he wouldn't be as bad as he is. The Scottish goverment has put all this money into this big new hospital, and nothing has changed, they now can afford to take on enough doctors to do the work. Love your card, and it's lovely. Hazel x
These delays are really unbelievable aren't they? But as you say there is nothing you can do but wait! I absolutely love poinsettias - they are so quintessentially Christmas aren't they? Hugs Christne xx
Beautiful Rita ..stunning poinsettias they are my favourite too.....fabulous card....

Hello Rita, I am so very sorry to hear that Andrew's op has yet again been delayed, and I read on another blog that he has lost the ability to walk now, it's so awful, for hiom but you too as you have the caring for him. It's this damn UK government trying to run down the NHS so that we will all go private. I wonder if there is any way if you could find out if they are reneging on their waiting time mission statement. gosh I'm on my soap box, sorry, but it makes me angry, what's it doing to you!!
On another note, I love your card, the poinsettias are gorgeous, and I never gave decoupage a thought, well done, you take care, hugs, Kate x
I guess Consultants need holidays too but why do they have to all go on holiday at the same time, it would never be allowed in the private sector.... so sorry that Andrew has a longer wait but hopefully it will be worth it in the end!
Your card is beautiful Rita, I love the rich red of the poinsettias and as always, your background is beautiful too. Hugs, Anne xx
This is gorgeous, love the fab design.xxx
Oh yes most certainly wouldn't be Christmas without poinsettias. Your card design is lovely and a great idea for layering. Hugs Mrs A.
Hi Rita,
beautiful card today as always.
Wonderful design, and great poinsettias too.
So sorry to hear about Andrew's health issues.
Love and biggest hugs from my house to yours.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
Season's Greetings for sure with this beautiful card!

Thanks for being patient with me, I'm sorry I haven't gotten here until now - this weekend was manic.
A gorgeous card for my theme this time and decoupage is where I started also. These are beautiful Rita and I love your card design too.
Lorraine
Hi Rita, sorry to be late visiting, but it's well worth my wait. This one is just super lovely with all the gorgeous red poinsettias. Also something I love too. Beautiful layout with the lacey look of the white mat & that wonderful border of lush red poinsettias arranged around it. Such a rich & regal look to this. Hope you're both well and glad you had some nice sunshine to enjoy. TFS & Hugs
Love your dimensional poinsettias, Rita - they look fabulously opulent.
I'm so sorry to hear that Andrew's op has been delayed yet again... how frustrating for you. Sending lots of love and hugs,
Alison xx
