Mixed Media.Picture

Hello Everyone.    A nice afternoon here after a windy and wet Thursday.   Chores are done for today,  so I thought you might like to see the latest project I created for the Fiskarettes Design team.   This one took me out of my comfort zone a little bit,  but once I started, the whole idea idea came to fruition.   I started by cutting my greyboard to size and embossed it with the Argyle folder.  Using black gesso I liberally painted it and let it dry overnight, before giving it a coat of white gesso, when it was completely dry I sanded it down here and there to get the effect I was looking for.
Using a Tim Holt flourish stencil and texture paste I started to embellish it.   I cut out Hexagons and Circles with Fiskars handheld punches and again I embossed them with butterflies etc.   The bronze metal flowers were given a coat of black and white gesso too,  before treating them to a coat of Treasured Pewter gilding wax,  love the look of them now.

Next it was time to bring it all together. Everything was given more than a hint of wax too.

Finally in the frame.

Hope you enjoy seeing another of my Fiskars projects.    Have a Great weekend.   Hugs Rita xxxxx

This is a triumph and I applaud you for stepping outwith your comfort zone, although it certainly doesn't appear that way!
The word that keeps coming to mind is ... regal. There is something very regal about this stunning creation.
Hope life is being kinder to you.

Absolutely brilliant, Rita. I love your white on black background, so cool, and the Pewter treatment both of the metal flowers and of your embossed shapes is a magical effect. Love this!
