Well Folks a great start to the week, the sun is shining and lots of lovely little Blue Tits around. The silver birch is starting to get new leaves, so spring is most definitely on its way. Daffodils are ready for opening their buds as well.
My card to-day is an 8 X 8 commision card for a 50th Birthday,. Bags and Bling was to be order of the day for this one. I still have a bag to make, so that will be my job for after lunch. Now maybe someone can help me with this. I have a box load of Martha Stewart punches that have not been used for months, maybe even years, and they are really hard for my hands now. I did use them on this card but it was not easy. Any ideas for making them less stiff as I have tried foil ,with not much difference, Morning chores all done, so maybe I'll get time to play after my bag is made. Yippee....
Enjoy your day and Happy Crafting. Hugs Rita xxxx

Hi Rita, love the card, definitely lots of bling and designer goodies. With regard to the punches the foil will sharpen the cutting edge and take off the burrs but try punching through wax paper a few times, that will lubricate the metal. Hope that helps.

What an original design on the card Rita, and yes, you certainly fulfilled the request for bags and bling!
Glad spring is on it's way in your corner. Sorry, can't help on the punches, but wax paper does sound like a good idea...
Thanks Lorraine. I'll give it a try. X
Clevercrafter is spot on with the punches. Aluminum foil to sharpen and wax paper to lubricate. Love your card! Such a great idea. Have a great week!
Lovely card, really pretty and exactly right! I, too have problems with my ounches, especially the MS ones, so I will try these tricks to see if it helps! Enjoy the god weather! Hugs, Valerie

Stunning love all the bags and bling, certainly what was asked for.
I also have lots of MS punches that have not been used for ages.
Like you some do not cut that well. Think that's why they have been neglected.
Enjoy the rest of your day

Oh what lovely designer goodies on your gorgeous card. I really, really love your card Rita.
I have some stuff called Cutter Glide Tool Treatment which is a special lubricant for craft punches, cutting blades and other tools (that is what is says on the pack). I have one particularly bad MS punch (a butterfly) and it did make it slightly easier to use. If the waxed paper does not work, let me know and I will send this up to you to try. Hugs, Anne xx
Love all those gorgeous handbags on this lovely card Rita. Hugs Christine xx
This is a beauty Rita. I have never found MS punches much good through card, but yes they do say to use foil and wax paper through all punches every now and then.

such a clever card Rita - brilliant - so glad spring is coming your way too xx
Hi Rita, Your certainly bang on here for the description you were given for this card. I'm sure they will be delighted with it, looks fab. As others have said wax paper is good for your punch. Hope it helps them.

Love this one. Very creative. Who doesn't like designer bags. Perfect for the 50th.
Hugs...Leanne
What a fabulous designer card Rita lots of heavenly items and added bling. I have lots of MS punches but they were never made to cut well, I find they jam up very easily and have never responded to any of the known treatments as suggested above. Good luck with them xx
Love it!I can think of loads of friends who would love a card like this.
Lovely card Rita and those designer bags are fabulous....I've used waxed paper and tin foil maybe try both...
Anne
Just fabulous Rita, this card will fit the bill you were given. Hazel xx
Stunning card Rita... Love it.. as for your MS punches... I have used wax paper in the past which helps... I must say I find the SU punches better to use....Hugs May x x
Hi Rita,
a wonderfully created card. Just so right for a person who loves handbags.
Now to your punches. When I bought my Martha Stewart circle punches and watched the demo by the lady on C and C I think her name is Michelle Heaton. She recommended you use wet and dry sand paper to cut out to sharpen your punches, and then waxed paper to lubricate them also. I hope this helps as I have not tried it yet as mine are still okay.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
Fabulous card x
Ah, you see - and now I can see just how clever the gift bag was - brilliantly co-ordinated with this fabulous card! Great work, Rita! I'm not much of a puncher myself - always have trouble with them, and my hands aren't even a problem - so I can't offer any useful advice, I'm afraid... but the sand and wax paper tips from Jenny sound interesting.
