Spring Flowers

Good Afternoon Everyone.  A very dark & dismal day here in the West coast of Scotland.  I'm actually trying to catch up with the ironing, but thought I would show you a card that I made from Out of the Garden CD-rom.  I do still love to do decoupage now and again and this one was a real challenge. The flowers were so tiny to cut out, but the end results were worth it. I thought I'd leave the card itself quite plain , so I matted and layered it and let the image and flowers do the rest.  I do love spring flowers, but sadly they do not last long.

A few of you asked about a tutorial  for the Lavender Rose card. I can give you the size that I made, but I would like to make a larger one and will certainly let you have the measurements once I have completed the card.  Meanwhile, I hope this helps those of you who liked the smaller one.

Using one A4 sheet, cut it in half, then cut it in half again to make the gate folds. Mine worked out at 21cms X 15cms. Score the two side pieces at 4cms,5cms,9cms 10cms. Fold the scored pieces adding the 1cm edge to the back of your card. The reason the card does not close is that the edge needs to rest on the image or embellishments that is placed on the inside of the card.  If you have any questions, I will be pleased to help if you e-mail me.
I hope this tutorial makes sense as its not something I find easy.  Hugs Rita xxxx

Wow Rita, this is gorgeous. I love seeing all the flowers. This looks like a lot of work, but certainly turned out great. We just now have all the snow melted we have had since December, so I am hoping to see flowers before long. Thanks for the instructions for the Lavender Rose card.
