Just to say Hello
Sorry for being AWOL for the last few days, in fact its nearly a week since my last post. Life has just got in the way a bit, and my time to create has been restricted. I went over to Annie's on Saturday and really we had such a great day. Really I went over to show her a few tips on sewing, and after she picked it up, there was no stopping her. A total change from when she was a young girl wanting to learn to sew. In these days I made her tack and tailor tack, but that was much too slow for our wee Annie and she was having none of that, so I ended up making the skirt that she wanted to make, and from what I remember she needed it for going out that night. So we laughed as we reminisced about the things that happened during those teen years. After a lovely lunch it was back to the sewing machine and we started to sew some shabby chic. Before I left she produced some calico bags for me to decorate in a shabby Chic style, well I'm afraid to say I just could not get to grips with it at all. I still have lace and bits to add to it, but here it is so far...... work in progress so to speak. I'll need to catch up with all your blogs, but please be patient with me at the moment. Hugs Rita xxxx

Your work in progress looks wonderful to me Rita, very chic indeed! Hugs, Anne x
Hello Rita, looks like a great bag and love the vintage look.
It's lovely to look back at your young and silly days, when we thought as teens we knew it all, but to must have instilled some of your skills into Annie as like her mum she is so creatively gifted, hugs Kate x
your bag is fantastic!!!! So is the story!
Love the bag...very shabby indeed...Love the story... Hugs May x x x
Woohoo ! Look at you mammy....go for it ! Your panel is beautiful and I look forward to seeing it finished. I am enjoying myself merging sewing and card/ paper craft. Have fun x

You did make me chuckle with your tales of when Annie was younger. I can relate!!! But bag is looking good. Look forward to seeing the finished article. Christine xx
Oh what a fun idea this is and I absolutely love what you have done with it so far!! Can't wait to see more!!
It's wonderful that you can pass on your skills Rita. My daughters both want to learn how to sew but I'm a numpty with a sewing machine so I won't be able to help them. Now give me a knitting machine and that's a different story! :) I'm so glad you enjoyed your day. x
What a beautiful day you both would have taking a trip down memory lane and sharing this Mother and Daughter time, that is precious in itself.
I adore your bag. I am a sucker for altered totes, they are such fun to alter and here before us is such a beautiful creation Rita.
Wishes
Lynne
A great day had by you both, changed days when Annie now wants to learn more about sewing.

Fabulous bag Rita.....isn't it lovely when you share time with your daughters....Annie certainly got a great tutor to teach more about sewing...

Hi Rita, love the bag - it's quite lovely as it is so it will look even more stunning once you've added the lace, etc. It's really nice to have some mother/daughter time together with a shared interest ... my daughter has just taken up patchwork so we now exchange ideas - it's fun. Sorry to read of Andrew's health issues - hope the visit to hospital will help. Hugs, Elizabeth xx
Glad you had a super day with Annie. Love this bag Rita it is gorgeous.

Sounds like a terrific day. I just tried to comment on your piece with the primary elements but couldn't get to the comment box. Wanted to say how lovely it is! I've just found myself loving those PE colors and am starting to play with them myself.
Fabulous shabby chic make so far, can't wait to see the finished thing. It sounds like a very productive day for the two of you!
