Good day to you All. Its beautiful sunshine here today and very warm too. Washing out and nearly dry, lunch prepared and I even walked to the post office earlier. I have had a busy week with Hospital appointments and physios coming in, and had no time to get in to my craft room at all. However, I'm hoping to get some crafty time to-morrow and enjoy some peace and quiet.
I did manage to finish my first 2 ply Lace shawl, and today I have washed and blocked it. I can see a few mistakes with this one, but hopefully I know now what I did and can correct the next one. I actually have started another one, and have now treated myself to a couple of pairs of the Knitting Pro needles that are so light and easy to knit with too. Nearly 400 stitches on this shawl finished, but well worth the effort when done. The colour is Aqua and I hope you like it. These will be for Christmas gifts, but this one I will keep. Hugs Rita xxxxx

that is so delicate Rita and so much work! I used to make lace sweaters and cardigans back in the day but I used a knitting machine and even then it was hard work. Love this. x
Hello Rita,
Oh Wow your shawl is stunning and so beautiful. I love the pastel colour and delicate pattern.

This is so beautiful and delicate. A long time since I knitted with 2 ply but I do prefer finer yarns really to work with. I presume you are talking about the needles with the plastic 'wire' in between two short needles and if so you will find them so nice to work with and much easier than unwieldy long needles with lots of stitches.
OMG, this is totally amazing Rita, there is knitting and then there is KNITTING, wow. I have seen these in natural, my SIL is an avid knitter and did them both for my own and my wee granddaughter, but I have to say, I love the aqua colour, really stunning! You are sooo clever!!
This is so beautiful Rita. And so much work!! Somebody is going to be over the moon at Christmas! Love from Christine xx
Oh wow Rita your shawl is stunning, 400 stitches is a lot of stitches!! Love the gorgeous colour of it, they must take you forever to make - but so worth it. Hugs, Anne x
Oh my word, Rita - what a stunning piece of work... consider my jaw well and truly dropped! Gorgeous colour too. Sorry not to have been around much, but I'm looking forward to doing a bit of catching up, as long as Blogger behaves!

stunning shawl Rita - what a very clever lady you are xx
Stunning shawl Rita how I envy you knitting with such fine wool. I love knitting but it is more Arran I do. Love the colour.

Hi Rita,
such a very beautiful shawl. I too envy you being able to knit with such very thin wool. Although I was an avid knitter in my earlier years, I would have never have been able to knit with such fine wool. I am also left handed and once I knitted a jumper with buzby the telephone bird on it. Well being left handed you can imagine I got a quarter way up the bird and thought that looks back to front so I had to reverse all the rows to get it right, and this was quite hard going, as you can imagine. Needless to say I finished that jumper , but never attempted another with an image on it. lol.
Today on a fellow blog by the name of John next door there is a lovely cot in a box all made from scratch. Worth a look at , as I know you appreciate such fabulous work. If you can't find it scroll down my blog list. I hope you don't mind my mentioning this as I think it's outstanding.
Have a wonderful crafty weekend.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.
Oh! My! Word" Rita this is "fantastic" I am a knitter but have never tackled anything as delicate as this.
I LOVE it, the delicacy and the beautiful colour.
Have a great weekend

OMG Rita, this is so beautifully delicate, and what a colour. I tried to do a lace shawl but had to give up, couldn't concentrate. I have some beautiful patterns I would like to try.
there is going to be some happy people this Christmas receiving these as gifts.
Hoping Andrew's physio is still helping him, take care of yourself, hugs Kate x

Rita this shawl looks just amazing, a beautiful pattern, fabulous colour and great finish to it. 400 stitches is a huge amount, must take you ages to knit each row.

Rita this is stunning, a lot of work but what a gorgeous gift these will make. I always loved to knit with fine wool, just had my friend knit two little baby coats in 3ply for us taking to Canada for a very long awaited baby that is due soon, Glad to hear that Andrew is doing better.

As we say over here "you must have the patience of a saint"!! This is superb Rita - bet its so light but beautifully cosy and warm - that's an awful lot of stitches. I used knit many years ago - but would not have been able for such fine and numerous stitches. Fabulous work. Nicola x
Wow!! Rita it is gorgeous. Beautful colour and so much delicate work.
