Birthday Card

Hello Folks.  Well my lovely family have now gone home and the house is so quiet without them. In fact Carolyn dropped me off at Annie's yesterday as we were having another Craft Day with our dear friend Astrid.  However, I only managed a few hours, before I had to leave as the painter was coming to stain the wood in the hall before the painting and ceilings get done.  But I had a great few hours with the girls, doing some tags and new techniques. Our next outing will a Christmas lunch in Glasgow at the beginning of December. Where on earth has this year gone.

My card today is the second 21st Birthday card for the same girl as before.  Another 8 X 8 card in a wallet this time. Its one I have used before and I really like it as its decoupaged, but sorry to say it has not shown up very well. I covered the butterfly with coloured gems of different sizes just to add some bling to the card.

I need to spend to-morrow putting my craft room back in order as Hamish was doing a World War 1 trench project for school.  So lots of mess to clean up.  Molly and Hamish both learned to knit and Molly also learned to crochet a granny square.  It was so nice to see them doing something different instead of the I-Pads getting over used.   They went away still knitting their scarves.   Hope to make a start on my Christmas cards this week too.  Time is running away from me now.   Hugs Rita xxxx

Oh wow, Rita, you are just such a fabulous card maker, this is stunning and I'm sure it will be much loved and admired!

It was great fun catching up yesterday!! Annie and I set a provisional lunch date for the middle of November, either the 18th or the 19th. Good to see you got some crafting done today!! Enjoy some peace and quiet and I'll see you in November!!!

Hi Rita, the year has just gone by in a whirl for me too - is it just because we are older or has it ever been thus? Your card is lovely - I like the gems on the butterfly, it looks like a brooch, such a good idea. My timer tells me that there's only 66 days to Christmas - that is just over 9 weeks - hope that helps you to calculate just how many cards you need to make each week :)) Take care. Hugs, Elizabeth xx

Brilliant card Rita, fantastic image, love all the embellishments.
It will certainly be loved by the recipient that's for sure.
Glad you have had a good time with the family.
Have to say the IPads are banned when the boys are here.
Robert spent yesterday with me making boxes. He managed far better than some of the ladies at the Class!!!!!
I am sure J& A are sick,of all the things he manages to make and take home........LOL!!!!
Have a good week
Hugs for you and Andrew

Had to laugh about the kids knitting instead of playing with Ipads! Good for you getting them away from these electronic toys. With a skill that can go forward with them. Loved your so-feminine & vintage card. Some lovely things to look at, and your butterfly was gorgeous with all the jewels. Loved that lace trim too. Went so beautifully with the corset & boots on the image, and your flowers were marvelous! TFS & Hugs.

Oh La La what a stunning card this is, brimming with gorgeous "Rita" detailing.
How special for the children to spend time with you and for them to learn new creative skills, let me be very old-fashioned by saying that is something money cannot buy!
How lovely that you managed some time with Annie and Astrid - looking forward to one of you girls sharing your creations with us all.
Wishes
Lynne

A fabulous card Rita, I love all the elements you have added, a great collection of beautiful things to make the card so interesting. Glad you managed some time with Annie and Astrid and how lovely to have been able to teach your grandchildren some great crafting skills. That's where we all started isn't it, being taught by our Mum's or Grannys? Have a lovely week.

Time seems to be running away from us all! It seems it was only yesterday that I was whining because the weather was cold...now were are beginning to see cooler temps again. Thanksgiving will be here before we know and like it or not Christmas is right on it's heels. Love the card you made. There are so many points of interest. I just know it will be cherished!
