Gift Box

Hello Folks.  I'm sorry for not being able to blog very much this week. I'm struggling with a lung infection thats affecting my breathing.  But I am on antibiotics and still have 2 to take.  However, I managed in to my craft room to-day and produced my first hexagon box.  Not the easiest of boxes to make I have to say, as I wanted mine to have a lid,  so to the drawing board and managed to sort one out.  I will have to make a few more before I'm entirely happy with my design.  If anyone has a full proof way of making this style of box maybe they can help me.  As its my first I'm pleased enough with it, but it took a long time to make.
60 days to go till the man with the Red suit arrives and I still have lots to do as I am making some craft items for Carolyn's first craft fair.on the 6th December.
Remember to put the clocks back to-night.     Hugs Rita xxxxx

Hello Rita
Gosh I hope you feel better soon, lung infections are not the best things to have. I love your box, the palette and the flower, even though you state that it took you a long time. (I always take a long time!)
This is not important because the result is just gorgeous, it has a feminine and soft appeal that is kind to the eye, and whoever receives it will be delighted.
Smiles:)

I can sympathesize with the lung & breathing issues. I suffer from this as well, and it's no fun at all. Hope the antibiotics do their job & you soon feel much improved. Now I'm not sure why you didn't like this box. It is gorgeous! Love the vintage look of the lace trim, and the flower topper is lovely as are all your flowers. This looks like it should be on a boudoir table, sort of like what I'd expect to see in Downton Abbey. It is so elegant & stylish. TFS & Hugs. Be well soon.

Good morning Rita here are a few (((((hugs))))) in hope that they help.
So sorry to hear you have not been too good, hopefully when the tablets are finished that will be it.
Your box is stunning, I love it. I have tried to make this style, I had a template and even with that I did not have much success getting the lid to fit they way I would have wanted.
You have got far further than I ever did and made a wonderful box. I love how you have decorated it.
Happy crafting
Hugs for you both

I am sorry but I can't help you with how to do a box like that, I have never tried one but can well imagine how tricky it must be. I think you have done a fantastic job here!!

A beautiful box, lovely colour choices. Sorry I don't know of a foolproof way to make this shape unless you have an actual box scoring board which I imagine would help (I don't have one but think they are available). Hope you are feeling better now - take care.

Poor you! Hope the antibiotics do the trick and you feel better soon. This is beautiful! I tried a hexagon box one - not very successfully I hasten to add, but you have done a great job with this. I am n the process of decorating a round box - much easier. Love and hugs from Christine xx

Hi Rita,
what a stunning box. This looks very difficult to make. I have made a round box before, but have never tried this design. I hated making the round one as it was quite difficult and fiddly to make.
Lots of love. Jenny L.
